“In Her Image” is a portrait art exhibition exploring the layered expressions of womanhood through oil paintings on reclaimed wood. Created by Brooklyn-based artist Afrocentric Keyy, this exhibition brings together a range of works produced across different seasons of her artistic practice.
Through portraiture, symbolism, and textured wood surfaces, the work reflects the many ways womanhood can be experienced and expressed — strength, vulnerability, beauty, protection, intuition, and transformation. Each piece invites viewers to consider how identity, memory, and personal expression shape the ways women are seen and represented.
The exhibition opens on March 20th at Poise, with a special opening-night artist talk in which the artist will share insights into her creative process, the evolution of the work, and the themes behind the exhibition. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with the artwork, connect with other art lovers, and participate in a thoughtful conversation about creativity and feminine expression.
This event is in celebration of Women’s History Month, celebrating the power of artistic storytelling and the many dimensions of womanhood.
